Peer Review Process

Manuscripts submitted to Jurnal Sistem Informasi (JSI) Universitas Suryadarma undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure scientific quality, objectivity, and fairness. In this system, the identities of both the authors and the reviewers are kept confidential from each other to promote impartial judgment.

Upon submission, each manuscript will be initially screened by the Editorial Board for its conformity with the journal's scope, basic structure, and writing standards. Following this, all manuscripts are screened for plagiarism using Turnitin software. Submissions with a similarity index exceeding the journal's ethical threshold or indicating academic misconduct will be rejected at this preliminary stage.

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to a minimum of two independent reviewers who are experts in the specific sub-field of the submitted work. Reviewers are selected based on their academic qualifications and research background relevant to the manuscript's topic.

The reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on several key criteria, including:

  • Originality and significance of the research.

  • Clarity of the research problem and objectives.

  • Soundness of the methodology and analysis.

  • Accuracy and interpretation of results.

  • Quality of discussion and conclusions.

  • Relevance of references and overall presentation.

Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision. The possible editorial decisions are:

  1. Accept: The manuscript is accepted for publication in its current form.

  2. Minor Revisions: The manuscript is accepted pending minor, specific revisions as suggested by the reviewers.

  3. Major Revisions: The manuscript requires substantial revisions and will be sent for a second round of review after the author's revisions are submitted.

  4. Reject: The manuscript is not suitable for publication in JSI.

Timeline: The peer-review process typically takes between 6 to 10 weeks from submission to the first decision. Authors are given 2 weeks to submit minor revisions and 4 weeks for major revisions. If the revised manuscript is not resubmitted within the allotted timeframe, it will be considered withdrawn from the publication process.

Jurnal Sistem Informasi (JSI) is committed to a timely and transparent review process. All editorial decisions, along with the reviewers' substantive comments (while maintaining anonymity), are communicated to the corresponding author to support their academic development.
