Commitment to Research Integrity
JSI (Jurnal Sistem Informasi), Universitas Suryadarma, is firmly committed to maintaining research integrity, publication ethics, and the credibility of the scholarly record. The journal follows the relevant flowcharts and guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) when assessing allegations of suspected research misconduct.

Scope of Allegations

Allegations may concern, but are not limited to, the following forms of suspected misconduct:

  • Fabrication: Making up research data, results, or other research-related information.
  • Falsification: Manipulating research materials, processes, data, or results in a way that misrepresents the research.
  • Authorship disputes or misconduct: Misrepresentation of authorship, inappropriate attribution, or disputes concerning authorship contributions.
  • Redundant publication: Republishing or submitting substantially overlapping work without appropriate disclosure or justification.

Handling of Allegations

Upon receiving an allegation, the editorial board assesses the information available and conducts an impartial preliminary inquiry. Depending on the nature and seriousness of the allegation, the process may include:

01 · Initial Assessment

Reviewing the allegation and available evidence to determine whether further examination is warranted.

02 · Request for Clarification

Seeking written clarification and relevant supporting information from the authors concerned, where appropriate.

03 · Further Consultation

Consulting the authors’ institutions or other relevant parties when necessary and appropriate to establish the facts.

04 · Editorial Decision

Evaluating the available evidence and determining an appropriate editorial response in accordance with publication ethics guidance.

Possible Corrective Actions

Depending on the findings, the seriousness of the issue, and the publication status of the work, corrective actions may include:

  • Rejection of a manuscript under review.
  • Request for correction or clarification, where appropriate.
  • Publication of a correction, expression of concern, or other editorial notice, where warranted.
  • Retraction of a published article when the evidence and circumstances justify retraction.
  • Referral to the relevant institution or other appropriate body when further investigation is required.
Fair and Impartial Assessment

JSI seeks to handle allegations fairly, impartially, and with appropriate discretion. Editorial decisions are based on the available evidence and relevant publication ethics guidance. An allegation is not, by itself, proof of misconduct.
