Facility layout is a critical aspect that determines the efficiency and productivity of an automotive workshop. BQK Workshop Bogor faces issues with its existing layout, including long technician travel distances, inefficient distribution of spare parts, and intersecting workflow patterns. These conditions increase service time, raise safety risks, and reduce customer comfort. This study aims to analyze the existing layout and design an improved facility layout that is more efficient, safe, and customer-oriented by applying the Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) method. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach supported by quantitative analysis. Data were collected through direct field observations, interviews with technicians and management, and documentation of workshop operations. Layout analysis was carried out using the SLP method with several supporting tools: Activity Relationship Chart (ARC) to map activity closeness, Operation Process Chart (OPC) to describe technician and material flows, and From To Chart (FTC) to calculate travel distances between work areas. The results reveal that the current layout has significant weaknesses in terms of workflow efficiency and safety. The proposed layout designed with SLP successfully reduces technician travel distances, improves spare parts distribution, and minimizes the risk of accidents caused by overlapping flows. Moreover, the new layout positions the customer waiting area closer to the reception desk, thereby enhancing both comfort and service transparency. Thus, the application of SLP proves effective in producing a more optimal workshop layout and supporting overall service quality improvement.Downloads
