Evaluasi Risiko Keselamatan Dan Kesehatan Kerja Di Sektor Industri Pengendalian Hama Menggunakan Metode HIRADC
Abstract
Exposure to toxic chemicals, physical hazards from equipment use, and biological risks due to interaction with pests are among the potential threats to occupational safety and health in the pest control industry. As a company operating in this sector, PT. Zeta Pest Control is required to conduct a risk assessment to determine the level of hazards and establish effective control measures. This study employs the Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Determining Control (HIRADC) method to evaluate the likelihood, exposure, and consequences associated with various potential hazards encountered in pest management activities. The hazard identification process was applied to several work methods, including spot spraying, cold fogging, hot fogging, and rodent baiting. A risk assessment matrix was then utilized to analyze the risks based on three factors: likelihood, exposure, and severity of consequences. The results were categorized into priority levels, including high and very high risk. Control measures were determined according to the hierarchy of hazard control, which comprises elimination, substitution, engineering controls, administrative controls, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). The findings reveal that certain work methods pose very high risks, such as cold fogging with risk scores ranging from 900 to 1800, and hot fogging with a score of 900.Meanwhile, spot spraying and rodent baiting are classified as priority 1 and very high risk, with chemical exposure scoring 540 and bacterial contamination scoring 450. Based on inspections of work equipment, chemicals, PPE, general safety, and worker health, 72% of workers were deemed compliant, while 28% were non-compliant. Recommended control measures include replacing hazardous chemicals, improving ventilation systems, implementing stricter standard operating procedures, and ensuring appropriate PPE usage for each work method.
